Tire tread-life calculator

How much tread life is left?

Wear rate = depth lost ÷ distance driven. Projected remaining distance = (current depth − selected depth) ÷ wear rate, floored at zero. Losing 3 mm over 30,000 km gives 1 mm per 10,000 km. From 5 mm to a selected 3 mm the projection is 20,000 km; to 1.6 mm it is 34,000 km. These are arithmetic examples, not safe mileage or legal approvals.

Linear estimate only. The initial 1.6 mm is an editable calculation value, not a worldwide legal or safe-use limit. Select the applicable depth from local rules and manufacturer guidance. Damage, ageing or changing wear can require earlier replacement.

Worked examples

Tread-life estimates are useful only when they start from a measured wear interval. These examples show how quickly the projection changes.

What to do with it: Recheck sooner if alignment, pressure or driving conditions change.
